Orkuting was blueish for a long while. A few months back , many scripts were introduced to tweak the orkut theme(Many of them were fraud scripts)which can be used with greasemonkey . Now, Orkut is testing its new Official Themes in India. All users with the country selected as India will get this feature soon. They are rolling it out to all users. So if you dont have an option now, dont be panic. You will get it soon.
How do you switch your theme? Click on the “change theme” link in the top navigation bar or go to the”themes” tab in the edit profile page. You’ll then see our gallery page, where you can check out all the themes that are currently available. Alternatively, if you visit a friend’s profile page and he has a theme you like, click on “get this theme.” When you select a theme, all your orkut pages will have this theme: your profile, scrapbook, photos, videos, etc. When other users visit your profile or other pages, they will see your selected theme.

To me , i feel all themes as toooo Cartoonish! There should be some abstract/natural themes. And may be an option for cutom themes. But it may creates problems as for each user, we have to load different images and it will slow down orkutting. Any way , Orkut will provide more themes in future. Lets hope for some good ones..
