Orkut added Accesskeys

One of the most interesting feature i like in Gmail interface or in The Google Mail for Hosted Domains( A gmail flavoured mailbox with custom domain which i use) is the Keyboard shortcuts for the most accessed features like to goto inbox or to compose a new mail. It will help us to avoid mouse usage and infact keep the process more fast. The same feature is now available in Orkut as accesskeys. Firefox users will find it more usefull as accesskeys are more suited with netscape or Mozilla. Internet explorer users may have to use a “Enter” after each shortcut as the accesskey only takes to the linking text in IE. For example,
In Internet Explorer :
To move to the scrapbook , press ALT+S which will take the focus to the “Scrapbook” link at the top of the page. Pressing ENTER will then take you to your scrapbook page.
In Firefox :
Pressing ALT+SHIFT+S will directly take you to the scrapbook. No need to press the enter key.
The keywords are simple to remember. Most of it use the first letter of the page name along with ALT+SHIFT in Firefox and ALT and ENTER in Internet Explorer. Like h for Homepage , p for Profile page, l for logout , c for communities b for friends (b for buddies may be ! ). I’l add more accesskeys soon if they exist.
