Imagine this. You are on your way back to home after a late night party. Road is empty and your car just stopped responding to your orders. You are alone and its not advisable to hang around there more because of ahem…. Some reasons. You decided to call your friend to come and pick you. And right then you hears this beautiful voice from your mobile operator -

“You have not enough balance to make this call. Please….”

The problems of prepaid!! – You may think. What if your postpaid connection is on a “call barred” state? And to add to your luck , there is no coin booth near you. What will you do? Hope and wait for a call from any one? Walk home? Sleep in car?? Ok..Ok..

What if you can make outgoing calls even when you have zero balance or in a call barred stage? Any better options? Yes. I am not out of my mind. What I said is already here in India. You can make out going calls even when your balance is zero. And the call charge will be paid by the receiver. Interesting??

Currently only IDEA has started this service in India. Named as “Connect Call” any one using IDEA can avail it by dialing 642 and registering themselves at a reasonable fee of Rs 10 Per month. Once registered this service will be automatically activated when the subscribed number is not able to access outgoing calls due to balance constraints.If your balance is nill , and you are trying to call any particular number, the receiver of your call will first receive a pre-recorded voice message which will inform him/her that the caller of this number it trying to call you and the balance will be deducted from their account rather than from the caller. If the receiving party accepts the call, the call will be connected whereas if he/she rejects the call the call will be disconnected. In either case the receiving party will know that you are trying to reach them!

This Service was originally started by Cellebrum(Who introduced this service with the name ‘Pay for Me’) . Now we can term it as Life time outgoing free . Lets wait till other Indian Providers introduce this service soon.
