Google Lively Not Live After 2008

Lively which was supposed to add another dimension to the Google’s social networking ventures will be closed by the end of this year.Lively is just four months old now and to be frank it was not a big success. The closing down was expected.
Many of you may have seen the new notice at the top of Lively site saying,
When launched, Lively was Google’s answer to the Second Life , which by that almost became very strong with a huge user base. Sadly, Lively failed. Is it because of the Google’s failure in marketing? . May be! Social sites were always a burden for Google.
Though labeled as “beta” , Closing of a site like Lively can have an impact. Many peoples have started new sites for showcasing there virtual room. Google says that
Embedded rooms in blogs and other web pages will continue to show an image, but users will no longer be able to enter Lively rooms and interact.
But in my opinion , instead of closing down, a renovation with some innovative ideas would make a change! Case with lively is that, it does not have anything to claim as ‘innovative’ . Simple as it seems, Google search was an innovative idea at that time and thats why it suceeded. Google Adsense,Gmail everything from google was a hit because they were different from the competitors. May be google comes up with something special later! Who knows? Its Google!
