Flickr was feature rich. It overtook all other photosharing sites and became a model of web 2.0 service. But still it lacked one thing. A slideshow that can be embedded to any external site. People relied on third party tools to rip slideshows from flickr to post on blogs. But now, Flickr allows sharing slideshow as embeddable code. They says they have redesigned the slideshow from scratch.

We’ve launched a new and improved fullscreen slideshow on Flickr, designed and rebuilt from the ground up to help you sit back and watch the world go by.

Ofcourse there is a big change. Slide show is now every where! Even videos can be embedded along with pictures. While show, the video will be played completely before moving to the next slide. Even a full screen slide show is possible now!

Slide Show Button

The new slideshow is now available in almost every flickr page, which shows a group of photos. Your photostream, sets, other members stream or even a group pool now have a slideshow button.Clicking on it will take you to a new page, where you have the option to view the embeddable code for the slide show. You also have an option to customize the slide show. Customization as of now limits to resizing the show to any size we wish or to a predefined size by Flickr.

I think flickr should announce it in everyones homepage. Or else, how we are supposed to know about the new feature? Thanks anyway for posting this. Made my job even easier.. You rocks buddy!!
