Are you a serious Twitter-er? Then these addons are for you , which will make your Twitter-ing easier right from the Firefox.

TwitterFox 1.6 : TwitterFox is a Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends’ statuses of Twitter. The most popular for a very large margin. The add-on places a Twitter icon at the top of your browser which can alert you when your friends update their stream.Also it has a small text input field to update your status. A handy one, if you are a busy tweeter.

TwitterBar 1.0 : TwitterBar allows you to post to Twitter from Firefox’s address bar. A small unobtrusive grey icon sits to the right of your address bar; clicking on it will post your tweet, and you can hover your mouse over it to see how many characters you have left.You can also post by typing “–post” at the end of your tweet. Clicking the grey icon when visiting a webpage will send a tweet with the URL of the webpage you are currently viewing.

TwitKit 1.0 : TwitKit is a Twitter sidebar for Firefox. TwitKit has a 6-section interface, using tabs to separate content. You can view the Twitter public timeline, your user timeline, a list of your friends and their latest tweets, a list of your followers and their latest tweets, @replies made to you, and stats about your account. Many different color schemes and settings are available for configuration, to suit any preference of appearance.

Twitzer 1.2.1 : If you want to post more than the 140 character limit at Twitter, install this extension. Now type away as much as you want and before posting just click on “Twitzer text”. The extension will automatically save the full text at shortText.com, create a URL and replace the typed text with the summary and URL.

All the above works on Firefox 2.x and 3.x except the Twitzer which is only for Firefox 2. A modified Twitzer version for Firefox 3 is available here.
